Waterproofing Membranes

ARMOURSHIELD covers a range of high performance plastomeric type APP (Atactic Polypropylene) modified waterproofing membrane consisting of a specially formulated bituminous compound of distilled asphalt modified with selected high grade viscoelastic polymers, stabilizers and inert fillers, reinforced with a robust, non woven polyester reinforcement.

Uses:

ARMOURSHIELD membranes are ideal for general use in single / multilayer systems, They are used on low slope concrete roofs, balconies, multi-storeyed car parks, tunnels, for lining sewerage canals, sub grade structures and any concrete or cementitious flat surface that needs waterproofing.

PACKING: The membranes are produced in thickness of 3 mm and 4 mm and standard length of 10 m and 1 m width.

ARMOURFLEX PVC is a Non reinforced  geomembrane, opaque, made  of flexible polyvinyl chloride(PVCP),with thin yellow signal  layer(PVC P),designed  for  tunnels  and basement  works. This geomembrane is not suitable for permanent exposure to UV radiation. The use of a geomembrane with a thin <> layer of clear colour allows:

• Better in lighting in the tunnel under construction by the reverberation of the artificial lights.
• An easy visual detection of the damages caused to the geomembrane as well as during the installation and during the successive works. Indeed, if the geomembrane, locally sustains loss of thickness by mechanical, thermal or other aggression, the thin <> layer will be damaged, and will let appear the dark layer of the geomembrane.

ARMOURSHIELD STICK membranes or SBS Membranes are factory fabricated waterproof sheets of predetermined thickness. These sheets are also known as membranes, are produced by coating a robust rot proof core, with an impervious elastomer modified bituminous compound. The compound is homogenous and highly flexible with rubber like characteristics. These are all important factors necessary for the membrane to function in a constantly wet environment.

Uses:

ARMOURSHIELD STICK membranes are designed to form an impermeable protection for below grade concrete in the presence of hydrostatic pressure. ARMOURSHIELD STICK membranes are used generally (but not limited to) for the following applications:

• Waterproofing the underside or topside of slabs –ongrade
• Protection of prestressed concrete panels or reinforced concrete castinsitu walls, below grade
• Waterproofing of foundation walls below as well as above grade
• Tanking of basements
• Waterproofing of pile caps, tie beams and raft foundations
• Damp –proofing of wet areas such a below shower basins
• Waterproofing under tiles in kitchens and wet areas
• Waterproofing of sewerage concrete manholes a vapour retarder

Water repellant impregnates are low viscosity silicones/ siloxanes/ silanes and other similar formulations which are available in both water based and solvent based formulations. These chemicals are applied on the surface of stone/ masonry facades of buildings. They permeate into the surface and impart water repellence to the surface, thereby reducing water ingress, increasing the life of facade and improving discolouration. A lot of times, the approach is done the other way and it is to cast as good a concrete as possible so that the concrete itself is watertight for which there are integral waterproofing compounds (basically polymers) like liquid admixtures and powders etc which are added directly to cement or concrete mix.

Armourflex tpo is a flexible polyolefin membranes (tpo-pp) non-reinforced. This is produced by co-extrusion of poliscudo r polyolefin alloy.
